Corn and Lima Bean Chowder (Dairy) Miriam Satz 1 cup dried lima beans 2 cups water 1 teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons chopped onion 1 ⁄4 cup cooking fat (olive oil) 1 cup diced celery 11⁄2 cups whole kernel corn 2 teaspoons salt 1 teaspoon sugar 1 ⁄8 teaspoon pepper 1 ⁄2 cup water 3 cups milk Soak beans in 2 cups water several hours.

Chinese Sauce for Vegetables Miriam Satz Blend until smooth 1 tablespoon cornstarch and 3 tablespoons cold water. Add 1⁄2 teaspoon salt and 1 tablespoon soy sauce.
